Winter is a special time to visit the Wells, Barkerville, Bowron Lakes area. We usually have around 18 to 25 feet of fluffy snow with beautiful sunny days and amazing starry nights. Northern lights flicker along the horizon. |

You can cross-country ski, snowshoe, dogsled, snowmobile, downhill ski or snowboard in the pristine backcountry and then retire back to your accommodation, or head to a local pub or restaurant for a night on the town. Besides all the outdoor activities there are to pursue in the wintertime, Wells is also home to a modern two-sheet curling rink that hosts several bonspiels and fun spiels over the winter. How to find us By road: from Quesnel on Highway 97, turn east on Highway 26 and travel 74 km to Wells, 82 km to Barkerville and 120 km to Bowron Lake. By rail: Via Rail has regular passenger service to the region. Vehicle rental is available. By air: nearby Quesnel and Prince George are serviced by daily Air BC or Westjet service from Vancouver and Edmonton. |
